Bark n’ Roll’s Band Leader
Owner/Operator Francine Coughlin CPDT-KA, is a Massachusetts native. She is the proud "mother" of three rescue pups, an ABC (Animal Behavior College) certified dog trainer (Honors Graduate), an AKC Certified CGC & S.T.A.R. Puppy Evaluator, and a Northeast Animal Shelter volunteer and volunteer trainer. While living in Los Angeles for five years and working in the film industry, Francine got involved with volunteering at various dog rescue organizations and shelters and found this to be an interesting and incredibly rewarding way to devote her time. Now she's back on the East Coast and via Bark n' Roll has incorporated her love for all things canine into a service that promises to bring some free spirited and friendly fun into its clients' daily routines by getting to know their dogs and giving them the rock star treatment.
Bark n' Roll strives to bring out the rock star in your dog! Dogs need exercise & stimulation to be happy and healthy. They are creatures of habit and den animals that feel most comfortable and safe in the home that you have given them. They rely on us to take them out and about in the world for proper socialization. We understand the importance of individualized canine care as each dog and family has different needs. We will work with you and your schedule to help your dog to expend his or her energy in positive ways that can help curb problem behaviors as well as spend time on the activities that he or she enjoys doing most whether that be a game of fetch, a run around the neighborhood, or some simple cuddly play time in the house. While you are out working hard, running errands, or enjoying some well-deserved “me” time, we want you to know with confidence that your beloved buddy is in good hands.

Operations Manager/Walker/Sitter Sarah Castine has been an animal lover all her life. Growing up in North Reading, she belonged to the local 4-H club, where she learned to ride and care for horses, as well as becoming a junior canine handler. She went on to show Norwegian Elkhounds at 4-H and AKC dog shows. As an adult, Sarah continues to pursue her passion for animals. She has worked in the field for the past six years, supervising doggie daycare, attending to boarding dogs, assisting in training and performing basic grooming. Sarah has volunteered for Great Dog Rescue Of New England as a foster mom to dogs looking for a forever home. However, her home has proven to be her three foster dogs' forever home! Sarah is honored to participate in the care of a very important member of your family!
Walker/In-Home Sitter Karen Tague is a lifelong resident of Stoneham. Growing up in a large family there was always a household pet from dogs to hamsters, to rabbits and chameleons. With a degree in Early Childhood Education Karen spent over 10 years teaching preschool and kindergarten. Most recently Karen spent a few busy tax seasons working for the IRS. An animal lover of all shapes and sizes she is currently without a canine of her own, but is excited to spend time walking, sitting, caring and bonding with your dogs through BnR!
Walker/Sitter/Training Assistant Laura Stone grew up in Andover, MA and has lived locally in North Reading for the past 5 years. You can typically find Laura and her Beagle/Corgi Mix Brownie, walking and playing at Harold Parker State Forest, Ipswich River Park, and Sheepfold Dog Park. Leaving her career as a Sales Representative a year ago, Laura has put her love for dogs and business experience to work starting Brownie’s Barkery-All Natural Maine Made Dog Treats. Having such a good time working with dogs and their owners she decided to get more involved by becoming a walker/sitter. She treats her dogs like her furry kids, and looks forward to treating yours the same way!
Trainer Tracy Ottina has been with Bark n' Roll since nearly the beginning. Tracy uses the positive reinforcement model of training to help you and your furry family member feel safe, secure and loved. Tracy recognizes that each dog has his/her own personality and, as such, modifies her approach accordingly. You can trust that Tracy will not overwhelm your little shy guy and she will redirect the enthusiasm of your rambunctious puppy in positive (and playful) directions. Tracy loves all animals and especially enjoys the challenge of working with canines that have reactive behaviors; whether it is based on overenthusiasm, separation anxiety, or fear, this particular group of misunderstood dogs have captured her heart.
Walker/Sitter Nancy Surette is a resident of Stoneham, where she can often be seen walking her two dogs Sam and April, both adopted from a shelter. Oh, and she also has three cats, also adopted! After spending the past 13 years in a customer service oriented environment, Nancy decided to follow a different path — and what could be better than working with dogs? Nancy is a caring and compassionate person, who realizes that all dogs are unique individuals and treats them with the love, patience and kindness that they all deserve. Nancy is very grateful and very happy to be part of the Bark n' Roll team!
Walker/Sitter Allysha Evans is a born and raised resident of Wilmington. Cosmetologist and Salon Manager by trade, Allysha is also a full-time animal lover. For Allysha, caring for animals comes naturally and every animal is treated as if he or she were her own. Allysha is a proud rescue momma to her 2 year old Lab Mix Ace and the newest addition to her family Niko, a 5 month old Lab/American Bulldog mix. During her free time, you can find Allysha with “the boys” running the trails at Harold Parker State Forest and Breakheart Reservation. Allysha is glad to be part of the Bark n’ Roll team and can’t wait to meet you and your four legged friends!

Sitter/Walker Heather Keating grew up in Andover, MA around many family dogs. Originally, she went to school to become an English teacher but ended up working with her first true love: animals. Heather graduated with a degree in Veterinary Technology from North Shore Community College in Danvers, MA and is presently employed as a Veterinary Technician. Unfortunately, she is unable to own a dog where she lives, so she is very excited about getting her “doggy fix” while working for Bark n’ Roll!
Walker/Runner/Sitter Ann Whalen has been a Reading resident for 15 years. A graduate of Kutztown University she is also a licensed real estate agent and currently works part time as a greeter at Winchester Hospital. Ann has been surrounded by dogs all of her life. Along with her husband and two daughters her family includes her black Lab, Tucker. Tucker chose Ann and her husband in 1999 and has been a valuable member of the family. After years as a certified therapy dog he is now a lovable 15 year old retiree. Ann is looking forward to her continued work and care of dogs as a part of Team Bark n’ Roll as she has all her life.
Walker/Sitter Allie Shannon-Murray is from a rural town in North Carolina, raised on a large farm with various animals. Large farms need well-behaved working dogs that trust and love their owners; so Allie was taught from a young age to know how to properly care for and train such an important member of the family. Allie now lives in Andover with her husband, who currently serves in the United States Air Force. They have two wonderful children and one best friend/fur baby nine year old rescue Lil Bit. Lil Bit has seen Allie through her high school and college experiences and continues to stay by her side as Allie adventures into parenthood. Allie has been certified and given personal health care for 10 years. She has experience in early childhood education, dental care and geriatric care. Although she loves her career in human care, she misses the connection and gratification from providing care to animals especially those of the canine variety. With Lil Bit's approval, Allie has eagerly joined the BnR Band and will no longer be singing a cappella.
Walker Kaitlin Carney lives in Andover with her two lovely daughters and her pup Buddy. She runs the youth field hockey program in Andover, coaches a variety of sports, and spends most of her time with children and dogs.
